Option Chain Page — Your Main Screen
After broker login, the Option Chain page loads by default — this is the home base of BrilliantBull. Everything else branches out from here. This guide explains every visible area and what each button/section does.
What You See on Screen
The screen is divided into 5 main zones:
- Top Header — app title, index selector, expiry, quick buttons (Pricing, Sound, Refresh, Display Scale, Advanced Chart)
- Card Strip (below header) — live market stats in compact cards
- Left Sidebar — icon-based navigation to 59+ tools, grouped in 5 categories
- Center Table — the actual Option Chain with calls (left), strikes (middle), puts (right)
- Bottom Status Bar — connection status, data freshness, license days remaining
Top Header Area
The header is the top strip (always visible). From left to right:
Left Section — Index & Expiry
- BrilliantBull Logo — clickable, takes you to the main screen
- Index Selector — dropdown to choose NIFTY / BANKNIFTY / FINNIFTY / MIDCPNIFTY / SENSEX
- Expiry Selector — dropdown to pick weekly or monthly expiry
- Spot Price — live index spot value, colored by day's change (green up, red down)
Center Section — License & Renewal
- License Badge — shows validity remaining (e.g., "45 days")
- Renewal Banner — appears when 6 days or less remain. Click opens the in-app Pricing window with one-click WhatsApp renewal.
Right Section — Quick Action Buttons
- 💳 Pricing — opens the subscription/pricing window with all plans
- 🔊 Sound — toggles audio alerts on/off
- 🔄 Refresh — manually refreshes all data (useful after brief internet glitch)
- 🔎 Display Scale — opens Display Settings window (font size, scale %, theme)
- 📈 Advanced Chart — opens the Advanced Chart Pro Dashboard in a new window
Left Sidebar — 59 Tools in 5 Groups
The left sidebar is a vertical strip of icons. Each icon opens a specific tool in a new window. Icons are organized in 5 category groups (separated by small dividers):
- ESSENTIALS (15) — Most-used daily tools: News, Option Chain, Scanner, Broker, AI Agent, TradingView, etc.
- STRATEGY (7) — Buyer Dashboard, SL Calculator, Algo Dashboard, Gap Scanner, Strategy Builder, Charts
- ANALYSIS (8) — OI Analysis, IV Lab, Greeks, Monte Carlo, Market Regime, Pain Chart
- MONITOR (14) — Alerts, OI Timeline, Gap Predictor, Stress Test, Portfolio VaR, GURU Panel
- TRADE (15) — Portfolio, Order Book, MTM P&L, Paper Trade, Trade Diary, P&L Reports
How to use: Hover over any icon to see its name as a tooltip. Click to open that tool. Multiple tool windows can be open at the same time.
Card Strip (Below Header)
The card strip is a horizontal row of compact cards showing live market stats. These update in real-time as prices change.
Typical cards include:
- Spot Card — current spot price + day's change + change %
- ATM Strike — at-the-money strike auto-calculated
- PCR Card — Put-Call Ratio for current expiry
- Max Pain — calculated max pain strike
- Market Breadth — advance/decline summary
- VIX — India VIX live value
Hover on any card for more details. Some cards are clickable and open a related tool window (e.g., clicking Max Pain opens the Pain Chart tool).
Option Chain Table (Center)
This is the main table — the heart of the app. It shows calls and puts side by side for all strikes around the ATM.
Column layout (left to right)
Call side (left half):
- Change in OI (CE)
- Open Interest (CE)
- Volume (CE)
- IV (CE)
- LTP (CE)
- Day's Change (CE)
Middle:
- Strike Price — highlighted for ATM, ITM calls, and OTM puts
Put side (right half): — mirror of Call columns (LTP, IV, Volume, OI, Change in OI)
Color coding
- Green cells — price up today or positive change
- Red cells — price down today or negative change
- Yellow highlight — ATM strike row
- Dim rows — far OTM strikes (less liquid)
Interactions
- Click any LTP — opens quick-order dialog (Buy/Sell)
- Right-click a row — context menu with more options (add to watchlist, open chart, etc.)
- Scroll wheel — scroll the chain up/down to see more strikes
- Column headers — some are sortable (click to sort)
Bottom Status Bar
The thin strip at the bottom of the screen shows app-level information:
- 🟢 Connected / 🔴 Disconnected — broker connection status
- Data freshness — last update time (should refresh every 1-2 seconds)
- WebSocket ping — latency indicator
- License days remaining — numeric countdown
- Market status — "Open" / "Closed" / "Pre-open" / "Post-close"
- Server time — NSE exchange time
If you see red, first check internet, then the Broker page to re-login. Most disconnects happen because the daily token expired (see Broker Login guide).
